Nina Petraro assumed the role of President of the Nassau County Young Republicans in February 2002 following the resignation of former President Donna Butler of Mineola. She was unanimously elected to the Presidency in October 2002 as well as in October 2003 and has made an organization the strongest youth political organization on Long Island.
Since she entered the executive office of the Young Republicans, the group has grown to nearly 400 members strong, with representatives from each part of Nassau County. Recognized as the Premiere Youth Republican leader from Long Island, Ms. Petraro was appointed the Executive Board of the New York State Young Republicans, as a Vice Chairperson, representing the Eastern Region of New York.
The YRs have not only joined numerous campaigns, but have held Numerous social events such as beach parties, a Christmas party every year, and frequent nights out around the County. A Die-hard Yankee fan, Petraro looks forwad to the future of Nassau County YR Days at Yankee Stadium, though mat Fans are also invited to join!
Ms. Petraro's work has achieved recognition not only by the wonderful Republicans in Nassau County, but worked with the White House advance Team under the Bush Administration and closely with the "People for Pataki" effort in Nassau.
Ms. Petraro earned her Bachelor of Arts dgree from St. Johns University in Government and Politics, graduating Summa Cum Laude..She is currently pursuing her law degree at the St. John's University School of Law.
