STEPHEN P. CANZONERI - President
President@NassauYRs.com
Stephen Canzoneri became president of the Nassau County Young
Republicans following the resignation of Andrew Stream.  He has had a
distinguished involvement in the YRs since first joining in 2001.

Steve was appointed by Nina Petraro to become the club’s first
Communications Director in 2002.  In that capacity, Stephen successfully designed and maintained the first YR’s Web site, creating a new portal to reach out to new members in a club that had previously been near defunct.  In April of 2003, he co-chaired the YR’s Support the Troops Rally For Freedom to show support for our troops fighting the War on Terror in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Later that year he was elected Second Vice President of Membership and Recruitment with 95% of the vote, in the first contested election in over a decade.  There he continued his work of increasing club membership, which reached its highest levels in decades.

In 2005, Stephen was appointed to be Special Advisor to President Chris Bastardi.  He was responsible for organizing meetings and various other duties.  He helped oversee one of the largest member outreach program, which included a mailing to Republicans county-wide.

Following Bastardi’s departure in early 2006, he was asked to stay on by President Alex Vassallo.  This year turned into a productive one as he chaired the annual Freedom Gala, which raised over $2000 for the YRs.

In addition, Stephen was elected Executive Vice President on Michael Kaplan's ticket in 2007.  He step aside briefly for personal reasons, but was asked to return under Andrew Stream.

2007 was an exciting year for Stephen.  He successfully managed the mayoral campaign of Patricia Ann Norris-McDonald and her entire slate of candidates in his hometown of Malverne, achieving the second highest mayoral victory in village history while unseating a two-term incumbent mayor and an incumbent trustee.  He was appointed Communications Chairman of the NYS Young Republicans.  And in April, he was hired as Chief of Staff to North Hempstead Councilman Angelo P. Ferrara.

Stephen has also been elected as a County Committeeman from the Malverne Executive Area since 1999 and has previously served as Deputy Executive Director of the Nassau County Republican Committee.
